The dramatic landscapes of Andalucia have attracted throngs of interested visitors over the year. The center of attraction has been the white washed villages; they are unique, stunning and picturesque. Their locations and culture make them amazing and well worth visiting.

Alhama De Granada

If you want to have a spectacular view of Alhama de Granada, approach it from the coast of Malaga. As you head inland and approach Granada, you will squeeze through a high pass called Zafarraya Pass. It’s more of a narrow crack ensconced between mountains. This pass opens up to a wide landscape of oak and corn.

The town of Granada, where the village is located, is perched at the precipice of a gorge, where you can gaze at the undulating plains of Sierra de Tejeda. It has a network of narrow and winding streets that in a way hide some old houses and a few churches.

One of the nicest places to stay while visiting here is the hotel La Seguiriya, a little hotel with excellent facilities.

Medina Sidonia

This village was once Spain’s prestigious ducal seats. It has a historical significance, as it was previously a Roman and Moorish town. There are so many interesting features around this pretty village.

The impressive old mansions and Moorish gates are just some of the old treasures that are well worth exploring during your visit.

Lanjaron is a small village nestled among the Alpujarras mountains, high within the Sierra Nevada Range in the south-easterly province of Granada. The town is roughly 50 kilometers away from the city of Granada, and about the same from the Costa Tropical and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Lanjaron is well-known in Spain due to the brand of mineral drinking water of the same name – indeed, the area around Lanjaron is noted for its abundant freshwater springs of great purity, as well as its supreme natural beauty.

The former spa town offers a very unique atmosphere and style, much appealing to foreign visitors. Take the time to blend in with the long history of the town; visit the castle ruins, the three ancient canons and the central church, dating back to the 16th century.

Lanjaron is also a great place for hiking, trekking and wildlife observation – venture out into the winding roads and capture some of the best photo shots of all things natural. Due to its convenient location within the province.

The town is also acts as an excellent base to explore the city of Granada, the Alhambra, the ski resort and National Park of Sierra Nevada, and the amazing, charming coast, featuring some incredible beaches and historical white-washed villages.

A quirky fact – Lanjaron itself is one of the very few places in the world which prohibit death, yes its illegal to die in Lanjaron ! I


This is a hilltop village with a dramatic appeal. One of the things you will notice here is that the picture postcard churches which house some interesting museums to preserve its ancient history. There is also a Neolithic site consisting of stone tombs and caves. You can enjoy this village and the surrounding area in one of the popular hotels, such as the Hotel la Enrea.


This is a white village at a stone’s throw from the coastline of the Costa del Sol. It is easily accessible. One of the things that will catch your attention as you drive toward this village is the white sparkling houses. These houses are in a cluster arrangement around the Moorish Castle.
