Benalmadena Beaches

Benalmadena has more than 8km of blue flag beaches some of which are in small rocky coves. The best beaches along Benalmadena's coastline include:

»  Bil - Bil Beach, the most popular as it is the largest sandy beach located in front of the Bill-Bil castle and runs along to the entrance of the marina. There are plenty of sunbeds to rent for the day as well as many beach bars and restaurants.

»  Torrevigia is a nice beach area locates close to Sunset Beach, The beach offers plenty of parking close by, disabled access, a first aid centre, beach bars and restaurants and is very child friendly with a playground area.

»  Tajo de la Soga, if you like quiet rocky covers this is the beach for you. Not particularly graced with lots of sand you will be treated to a peaceful day on the beach as the area is not frequented by lots of holidaymakers. There are a couple of beach bars but little else.

» Fuente de la Salud beach is located at the western end of the Benalmadena Marina and one of the most popular beaches with plenty of sand, bars, restaurants, showers and a first aid booth. This is a perfect beach for families close to the hotels and all other amenities.

Other beaches include Malapesquera,  Benalnatura ( naturist beach ) and Melilleros all of which are worth visiting.

The seafront was pedestrianised a few years ago and runs from the western end of Benalmadena to the famous Carihuela district of Torremolinos. The absence of road traffic right along the seafront area makes it perfect for long tranquil walks day or night. The long beachfront walkway is lined with numerous beach bars offering great tapas and local fish and rice dishes.

Benalmadena Village

The old village has still maintained some of its oldy world charm despite the large numbers of visitors and new constructions that have grown up near the Village. It is still possible, even in mid-summer, to walk around the old part of the village for a peaceful meander to discover some very quaint and friendly tapas bars and inexpensive restaurants. Benalmadena Pueblo has a unique architectural style which is a blend of Moorish, Spanish and modern designs.

Arroyo de la Miel

The busy commercial town centre separating the village on the hill from the seafront. Arroyo has grown rapidly, due greatly to the excellent train service running between Fuengirola and Malaga, as well as good road connection.

Benalmadena Costa

The coastal part is where you can find a wide-ranging variety of activities and nightlife for all the family. The fantastic award-winning Benalmadena Marina is one of the most amazing ports and residential developments in the world.

It has been awarded the prize as the ‘best marina in the world’ on two occasions, and since 1987 it has had the European blue flag due to the quality of its services and water.
