Los Flamingos Golf Guide

The Flamingos course stands as the clear favorite among golfers, drawing its popularity from its unique features. Stretching approximately 5,800 meters, it may not be the longest course, but its tight fairways and numerous water hazards pose formidable challenges. The opening holes present an exciting yet demanding start, with the first tee overlooking a ravine and a lake flanking the right side. Some of the holes seem intricately placed within limited spaces, particularly the par 3-4th hole and the crescent-shaped par 5-6th hole.

As you progress to the back nine, the course gradually opens up. However, the Par 4-10th hole proves to be a formidable test, demanding precision off the tee and a well-executed second shot across the lake to reach the green in regulation. For a chance at nearest to the pin honours, the Par 3 12th hole leaves little room for error. While open driving holes are scarce, the 6th hole offers more space for confident drives.

On clear days, the course treats golfers to breathtaking views of the sea, enhancing the overall picturesque setting of the resort. The Los Flamingos golf course hosted the Spanish Open in 2010 and has been a fixture on the senior's circuit for years. It has also welcomed prestigious tournaments like the European Senior Final and The Daily Telegraph European Seniors Match Play championships.

The Flamingos golf resort is home to the luxury Hotel Villa Padierna, an impressive hotel on many levels and a true king amongst golfing destinations on the Costa del Sol.
