Anoreta Golf is a picturesque course near Malaga on the Costa del Sol
Anoreta Golf was designed by Jose Maria Canizares of Ryder Cup fame and opened its doors to the public in 1990 and was the first 18 hole golf course to be built east of Malaga.
The Anoreta Golf Club house is modelled on a traditional Andalucian farmhouse and offers a warm and inviting welcome to all new arrivals at the club.
Anoreta Golf offers an excellent challenge for golfers of all levels with its varied and pleasant undulating greens surrounded by trees and water accentuating the natural surroundings. The course is some 5.800 meters in length and around 6.016 meters from the white tees providing a good challenge to players of all levels from professionals to high handicappers.
There are a good number of bunkers and water obstacles, fast greens and nice easy to play fairways. Well placed palm and pine trees and other local fauna enhance the natural beauty of the course and make you think about placing most shots. The 17th Hole Par 3 is surrounded by a large lake and has a spectacular green while the slightly elevated stunning 18th hole will encourage you to finish your round well as you make your way back up to the 19th Hole !
Anoreta golf may not be one of the most well known to visiting golfers to the Costa del Sol as it is not always included on the itineraries offered by tour operators. It does though offer good value and well worth trying out if you are looking for somewhere new and different to play.
There is an excellent golf academy at Anoreta which is aptly run by Antonio Lastre, with over 30 years teaching experience. The academy boasts having nurtured several grand champions.
There has always been a good social scene for all the family at Anoreta with the restaurant and club house overlooking the 1st hole being a great place to unwind after your game.
The high quality restaurant serves up an excellent variety of Mediterranean specialities such as fried fish, cured ham and meat dishes.
